Art Teaching- Where I’m coming from

Ever since I was a student, the arts and education have gone hand in hand. I wanted to integrate the joy, curiosity, and wonders of the arts to education. Art is a way of knowing. It is research, intuition, feelings, dreams, poetry, and technology. My more than 30 years teaching kids and adults have shown me ways to create age-appropriate safe spaces for students to develop and express themselves. through the exploration of different techniques, materials, and projects. I believe art has a big role in cultivating awareness of the senses, curiosity, imagination, love for learning, teamwork and creative skills to express through visual language. There are no mistakes in art, just opportunities to try other possibilities.
